Inspiration

Three ways to see your day

Three of the most requested styles right now, all of which we love working in. Browse through them together and notice which one you are drawn to. If you have another style in mind, feel free to send us your own reference images.

Reference images from our moodboard, not our own work. They show the direction: light, colour and mood. Our own photographs are in the portfolio.

1. Minimalist & modern

Clean, timeless, editorial

The style

Calm compositions, plenty of air and light that is soft without being sweet. Colours are muted, often close to monochrome, and black and white gets room to breathe. It is about lines, shape and two people in a room. Images that look as right years from now as they do tomorrow.

For you if

want something that feels like a fashion magazine rather than a wedding album. You like the pared-back and would rather have ten perfect images than a hundred fine ones.

What it looks like

  • ·Muted, natural colour and clean black and white
  • ·Directed portraits with clear form
  • ·Lots of negative space, few distractions
  • ·Strongest in architecture and clean rooms

2. Romantic vintage

Warm, filmic, like an old photo album

The style

Warm tones, soft contrast and the feel of film. The light can be golden, the grain can show, and colours lean towards green, brown and beige. The images feel found rather than taken, like something you pull out of a box at your parents' house.

For you if

are getting married outdoors, in a garden, in the countryside or in an old building, and want images that feel warm and lived-in. You like nostalgia and would happily have part of the day shot on real film.

What it looks like

  • ·Warm, filmic colour with visible grain
  • ·Natural light, ideally late in the day
  • ·Movement and moments over poses
  • ·Strongest in nature, gardens and older settings

3. Flash & moments

Raw, direct, the party as it was

The style

Direct flash, hard contrast and a disposable-camera feel. This is the style that captures the evening: the dance floor, the toast, the laughter nobody had time to pose for. The images are unpolished and true because of it. Often black and white, often a little tilted, always in the middle of it.

For you if

want the evening and the party as much as the ceremony. You have friends who dance, and you want to hear the music when you look at the images in ten years.

What it looks like

  • ·Direct flash with hard shadows and shine
  • ·Documentary, nothing is staged
  • ·Strongest after dark and on the dance floor
  • ·Captures the evening and the party as it was
